The Cybertruck fad was red hot but will be burning out soon and fading fast. Promises on range and pricing were missed badly - and that matters. That long waiting list has been burned through, and you can now move straight to the front of the line. What happened to $40k price? What happened to 500 miles of range? What happened to a true exoskeleton?

While very annoying to see them priced out of my budget, but I'd rather Tesla bank on the novelty of the CT than scalpers.

The cyber truck is an ugly piece of junk that is useless. Cannot drive it in the rain. It is thenumber 1 selling pickup because all the fanboys thought they would be cool driving some weird piece of junk.

If you want to talk about something amazing, how about the fact that Tesla is delivering CTs with literal trash in them and chalk marks outlining defects from the factory after attempting to deliver a nonfunctioning vehicle and still expecting customersbto take delivery.

They've sold 10,000 trucks to super fans who waited years to get one. That doesn't really indicate anything.

They canceled the cheaper version release last week. Keep up maybe , they never had 2 million preorders. The trucks are piling up in Texas. Tesla is combining the CT sales with Model X and S just like they combined sales of Y and 3 models so no one can actually see the sales numbers . Elon belongs in federal prison and the CT is still a joke.

CT is a joke! I am a Tesla fan, but all the hype about the CT is a false positive. Backorders will slow down and Ford will surpass the other brands for electric trucks. The build quality is awful for the CT.

I took delivery of my CT in June and since then i have put several thousand trouble free miles on it. It is by far the most fun vehicle i have ever owned. it is amazing. It is 10 years ahead of the rest.

Tesla will ship about 23k Cybertrucks in 2024. It's doing okay, but its very ugly, only available in one color, and is $100k. It's a niche product. It has had near zero effect on Ford; what is killing the large truck market at the moment is high interest rates, and ridiculously high prices. The number of people who can afford a 70 to 100k vehicle vs the number who can afford a 40k truck is something like a 10:1 ratio. This is why the Ford Maverick which has gone from 20k to 30k in the last 4 years is outselling the Ranger, and around even with the previous market leader Tacoma, because we are in a mild recession and prices needed to come down.

I have a preorder and have been offered a foundation series. I am waiting for the lower price, but still intend to buy.

The cyber truck is the best selling vehicle over $100,000. Also, they are still increasing sales of the Foundation Series. And will stay with this higher priced version as COG’s are being reduced. At least they are sure they can produce the cheaper version at a profit and in the numbers that can address demand. Tesla is a master of controlling demand by raising or lowering price.

I think you have it wrong. The Cybertruck really isn't a pickup truck. It does not really compete with the F-150 Lightning or Chevy Silverado EV. It is in it's own class -- Perhaps "Futuristic Cool Thing". Real macho pickup truck owners don't want an EV pickup, as EVs are not macho. That's why the Ford Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV sell poorly. They target a market that despises them. They Cybertruck is different and has created it's own market. Joyful kids hang out of of their windows, and cheer and wave as I drive buy with my Cybertruck...... they don't do that with the Ford Lightning.

I could live with and electric truck but, I need a working truck. The short bed is no good for what I do. I also have no need for a 600 foot pound motor. I don't race around with my truck. I wonder how many cyber trucks will ever have a 2X4 or 4X8 sheet of plywood in the back?

The 90 to 165 mile tow range is arguably the biggest problem that any electric truck manufacturer faces in selling them at scale, including Tesla. While early adopters and the top tier earners in society may desire to show off their wealth by owning what is obviously a luxury vehicle, reaching the broader market is going to take newer, better batteries than what is currently in the manufacturing que. I am starting to feel bad for the legacy car companies. After all there is a lot of history with them. Also a lot of people will lose their jobs as Gm, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota and VW will lose their market share.
